In March 2020 we were delighted to be appointed by the Skylark IX restoration trust and Alternatives Dumbarton to lead on the build of a new St Ayles Skiff build in the Denny tank museum in Dumbarton. That was the last meeting we went to before the UK locked down because of Covid-19. We were extra happy because it allowed us to bring Jae Bradley onto our core staff team to run the project.

Despite the pandemic we have been pulling the project forwards, developing a series of distanced workshops building model boats over the ubiquitous Zoom. As lockdown eased we started teaching in person before having to call a halt again in November 2020. We’re working with clients in recovery from Alternatives Dumbarton teaching traditional and modern skills.

We’re delighted to be working on the project and helping to think on our feet around how to deliver skills training in the midst of a pandemic!
