Accommodation Guide
In 2025 all our courses we encourage participant to camp on our croft, in either tents or smaller campervans for a small fee. We have 2 yurts on the croft both with comfy double beds, wood stoves and some nice seating - a real upgrade from camping but meaning you can still be part of the croft, you can just select this on booking. Some people feel a week camping (or even glamping in our yurts) is not for them, so to help people find a good place to stay we’ve prepared this short guide. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to get in touch. We strongly recommend booking your accommodation and your ferries as soon as you’ve booked your course place - things fill up quickly and options can be limited.
The course takes place on Ardtun, Mull. Postcode is PA676DH if you are searching for accommodation yourself. Mull is deceptively big, so we'd strongly recommend something in or near the villages of Bunessan and Fionnphort. Further up the island can get quite far away and you'd spend half the week driving!
For self catering our absolute favourites are:
Neil’s croft is the closest place to us, he has 3 options - a very lovely posh Caravan, a cosy Snug and the Hide. All are exceptional and Neil is a great host.
Jon and Wendy's Yurt round the corner - a beautiful space about a mile from the course
Fairwinds Cabin - close, cosy and really beautiful
Celia's camping hut - small and basic, but everything you need.
There are loads more - most folk put cabins and cottages on AirBnB though it's worth checking out Isle of Mull Cottages if your budget stretches to more luxury or you want a bigger space.
There is a good campsite at the stunning Fidden farm, though they don't normally take bookings. Campervans can also park up at Uisken and Ardalanish beaches: there are no facilities, but great views and it's a bit closer to the workshop. Ardalanish is the cheapest of the three and it’s usually the quietest, but it’s also just a field with no facilities at all. You can’t book Uisken or Ardalanish, though there is almost always room to park up there. Past participants have set up a base camp and cycled back and forward from the workshop - glorious on sunny days but a bit tougher in the rain!
