Location: ARDTUn, MULL
Dates: 20TH TO 27TH APRIL
This year we are adding a new element to our work - an open artists residency that exists as part of our commitment to broaden the appeal and reach of craft based making. On this special week we’ll work together as a group to build a single boat before launching it on the stunning Uisken beach to have a play on the water. The week is partly a craft course - all skills required are taught so no experience is necessary and by the end of it you will have learned a lot about boatbuilding and working in timber. We also hope to inspire you to develop your practice - we’re only building one boat in a group of six where normally we’d build two, this means there will be plenty time to go off and make work, think about what is happening or just explore the Ross of Mull. We’ll all work together to find a pace and rhythm that works for all of us.
To keep the costs as low as possible we are waiving our usual fees, just covering the organisation core costs and workshop hire - all of which means that we will expect everyone to help out with cooking, cleaning and keeping us on track! Accommodation is camping so you’ll need to bring your own tent, sleeping bag and roll mat - if you can’t find those let us know and we can sort you out with kit.
The week costs £400 inclusive of all food, accommodation and learning materials. All you have to do is get yourself to the Ross of Mull.
Places are by application, please complete the form below. If you have any questions at all please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Deadline for applications is midnight on December 16th. We’ll let you know if your application is successful within a week after that.
